'Hot water carpet cleaners ideal for stain removal'
Using hot water and detergent is one of the best ways to clean carpets and rid them of hard-to-remove dirt and grime, a cleaning expert has said.
According to celebrity hostess Jessica Denay, the upcoming Christmas period is likely to end with plenty of mishaps and stains across the household, so consumers should make use of carpet cleaners that utilise hot water and soap, which are certain to remove dirt with ease.
Writing in the San Fernando Valley Sun, she pointed out that using carpet cleaners in this way lifts debris from carpet fibres that cannot be adequately dealt with by conventional vacuuming and helps to prolong carpet life.
Ms Denay explained that when it comes to cleaning up spilled flour, sugar, sprinkles and other seasonal culinary delights, a vacuum is the best option.
"Make sure to clean the dirt cup and filter [of a vacuum] frequently if using a bagless, or for bagged cleaners take care to change the bag often," she advised.
"You can also sprinkle salt on a damp cloth to clean up flour - the salt helps to keep the flour from sticking to the cloth."
Daimer Industries recently unveiled a new version of its 5800T carpet shampooers, which has increased pressure levels of up to 100 psi.
